How Obama Really Did It
Obama's campaign used social networking tools in order to bring him to the brink of presidency. One way that Obama's campaign did this was by developing a social networking site which provided information on Obama's achievements. Bringing Obama's campaign to the internet helped Obama gain recognition seeing as everyone goes on social media and everyone goes on the internet. His campaign brought information to Americans instead of Americans going out of their way to discover what plans Obama had for the United States at the time. Obama's campaign had discovered that by placing their plans for the country and their beliefs on social networking sights such as Facebook and MySpace, and their supporters word share it for them and spread the word.
Obama's online campaign helped bring in millions of dollars in donor money for organizations that needed the help and that needed to gain recognition. Because of Obama's online campaign known as My BO, he placed himself in front of McCain presidency. His social media recognition exceeded McCain's which put him in favor of the younger generations who mostly use social media sites. Obama's My BO members were influenced to vote because of his social networking site. It influenced people to make a change and it brought people together nationwide. My BO motivated people to get out there and get into contact with people that they haven't spoken to in a long time in order to share their beliefs and connect with others.
I agree Obama's online campaign "My Bo" was a major success and helped him win the presidential election. Another way he was able to stay on top of everyone else was due to the fact that he hired professionals who would innovate and enhance his already successful online network. These individuals made sure that Obama's campaign stood out over the other candidates. Although candidates like John McCain and Hillary Clinton both had their own online network, Obama's was built on a much stronger foundation.
